I designed my own wedding invitations on photoshop, using the paper stars I made as a backdrop and some fonts I found free on the net. Sadly my printer is throwing a major wobbly, typical after buying two fresh packs of cartridges, so I had to go to that printing company that insist on spamming my inbox every day (you know who you are). But I am very pleased with how they came out and I did get free envelopes. Now I just need to find a pink pen to write them with….. Eeeeh exciting!!

I have been really bad at blogging again! So very sorry. And in my own true style, I have started a lot of projects, but finished very few of them! I thought I would nip on and show you a couple of the things I have been up too however. So at least you can see I am doing something… even if I am not getting very far.
First of all, we have these lovely little felt hearts on sticks. I really do have a hate hate relationship with hand sewing, but it is something which I can get on with at work on my lunch so is a good project that I keep dipping in to. I have made about 35 of these bad boys so far in various colours but I think I need about 100 of them in total. My plan is to put these in recycled glass bottles to become a part of the table decoration.
The other thing I have been up to is making tiny little origami ‘lucky stars’ I love how these look under glass and they are so sweet. The idea as well as that they are supposed to be lucky, especially in terms of ‘love’ so I really like the idea of having these scattered on the tables, or maybe in jars or glasses. I have however only filled two ‘small’ jars so far. This might be me biting off more than I can chew!
I do have some other bits and bobs on the go. Collecting jars and bottles, and considering how these can be made to look prettier. Myself and my mum are trying to plan growing some late flowering plants in a hope the frost wont kill them off before the day. I am not planning on using a florist and my initial plan was not to have any real flowers at all. I want the bouquets to be hand made by me and my bridesmaids with fabric flowers, buttons, feathers, sparkly things. So the addition of the grown flowers will be nice if it works, but I am not going to rely on the UK weather keeping them alive until the end of October. It is a nice thing to be planning with my mum though and feels like we are working towards something else. My sister in law has also started the prep for making my dress which is very exciting! This is obviously the bit I cant wait to see finished.
Thank you to those of have liked of begun to follow my blog as an adventure into wedding craft! I thought I would start by sharing my pinterest board with you all. Its a work in progress but such a useful tool for collating idea. If you would like to check it out please visit http://pinterest.com/monstermagic/wedding/
Well it looks like I will be getting married this year! Now I am not the kind of person who has always had a dream wedding in my head, in fact quiet the opposite. The idea of all this planning and cost and this very contemplation of a theme has quiet frankly scared the living daylights out of me! I mean since October I have been trying to work out just what me and Chris are like so I can come up with a theme and I just haven’t been able to muster one up. The only one thing I have been certain on the whole way through is that I want to try and craft as much of it as is humanly possible, that and I think it is just going to be a case of anything goes, as long as it either bright, cheery or a little bit daft. So from now on this blog will be a homage to this mammoth task, a place to collect my thoughts and maybe vent my stresses :). Wish me luck…
I’m a little excited now as I have now dropped all my Monster Magic items off for the Open Studio on Sunday. I can’t wait to see how it goes and to go and view them all on sale. I am also looking forward to viewing the other items that will also be on offer there.
I would love to stick a picture on here of what will be there but I don’t want to spoil the surprise for anyone that may be in attendance.
Lets hope it all goes well.
This is not a very long post but yesterday I made Chris drive me to Ikea which he was not very happy about! But we bought all the shelves that I wanted for my craft room. I should really have measured the width of the room as well as the length and the height though because we nearly couldn’t stand it up! But they are up, and I have unpacked so much stuff to them now it looks great, I just like to go and stand in there and look.
I’m not going to blog any pictures of it today because it still isn’t finished. Still need to pick the desk up from my mum and dads and there is a smaller set of shelves to put up. Hopefully we will sort that next weekend.
Well it is finally the end of my glorious week off, and what do I have to show for it? absolutely nothing! But that was kind of the point, having been so busy over the past weeks we both just had a week off to chill out and do nothing at all.
Having said that I have NOTHING to show for it is a little bit of a lie though. I made a pouch which is shown below and i know its not very exciting (another pouch) but this one has a flat bottom so was a bit of practising and was not as easy as the other one.
One other thing I have done today with my extra day off is I have now painted my craft room! so all it needs now is some furniture and then the most exciting bit, the unpacking. I can’t wait to get it all finished. It is painted ‘mint’ and at the minute looks a bit cold, but im sure once it has some stuff in it it will be gorgeous.
Thats it for now, I am hoping to get the shop updated, and the craft room finished by next weekend.
